Plasma - Plasma Arc cutting uses an ionized gas created by an electric arc with forced compressed air or nitrogen. The plasma gas becomes conductive and carries the energy through the material and severing it with a very clean cut. Miller Miller's website.
Oxy/Fuel - Oxy/Fuel cutting uses an oxygen and fuel gas (acetylene, propane, propylene) to heat and cut steel. Oxygen and the fuel gas are mixed and expelled out the torch tip in a controlled flame to heat the metal to near melting point. Oxygen enhances combustion and when added to the flame it superheats the metal to a molten state and pushes the molten metal out of the cut.
Abrasive Cutoff Saw - also known as a chop-saw uses an abrasive cutoff wheel to slice through metal. A fixed pedestal mounted tools is typically used to cut linear material. Handheld models can be used to cut both sheet material and linear material.
Cold Cut Saw - uses a metal carbide blade to cut through metals. A fixed pedestal mounted tools is typically used to cut linear material. Handheld models can be used to cut both sheet material and linear material.
Metal Circular Saw - uses a cermet tip blade to cut through metals. This handheld model can be used to cut both sheet material and linear material.
