From The Start
Since 1948 Paul Carroll Welding Supply, Inc. has provided welding, machining, and construction professionals with quality welding supplies, industrial gases, tools, welding machines, oxy/acetylene cutting and welding torches, stick electrodes, and safety apparel.
In the early days we were known as Paul Carroll Oxygen Company. Paul and Mary Carroll founded the business to supply gases to the welding industry in the area. From humble beginnings the family business grew to include more welding supplies and equipment. With that a name change was in order, and so it is today.
The Chlorine Years
The company became heavily involved in the distribution of chlorine beginning in 1959, and continued to maintain chlorine as a core part of the business until 2002. After Paul's death Mary Carroll continued to run the business until the mid 90's. Mary greeted each customer as they walked in the door treating each of them as if they were old friends, and of course many of them were.
The 21st Century
Today David Carroll runs the family business that is still in the same location that it has been in since 1963. Now the lone independent welding supply distributor in Abilene, the focus is still providing quality service at a fair price. We have increased our sales staff, and strive to ensure that our customers know that we can assist them with just about any welding supply need. We have also increased our service offerings as a Factory Authorized Miller Electric service depot as well as a Kohler Specialized Dealer for engines on engine driven welders. Another aspect of the business is hydrostatic testing of high pressure cylinders, along with a reconditioning facility that provides a full suite of services for high pressure cylinders.
